Learning to Achieve Festival

This week we have been delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit some of our senior pupils' work as part of Falkirk Council's 'Learning to Achieve Festival.'

Our 'Celebrating Success in Art and Design Exhibition' has been running all week in the school library, showcasing the talent of our artistic young people and has received many positive comments already.  Here is a small selection of what's on show.  We would love to welcome you along and the exhibition will continue until the end of the school day tomorrow (Friday 1st October).

Travelling Gallery Visit

Larbert High School enjoyed a visit from the Travelling Gallery on Monday 27th September 2010.  A range of classes from the Art and design Department were able to visit the art exhibition on board the bus, titled 'Impossible Nation.'  Pupils had their thoughts and opinions challenged by the modern artwork by a variety of contemporary artists.  Here are some photos from the day.

Photography course

Some of the fantastic photos from our Photography Course.  Pupils have enjoyed working on a Pattern and Texture project and are now confident using 35mm cameras as well as the dark room to print images.

Well done to all these talented pupils and keep up the hard work!

Welcome back....

Our new term is now well underway and we already have lots of fantastic things to look forward to in the Art and Design Department,

Soon we will be exhibiting Advanced Higher folios from last year and looking forward to a visit from the Traveling Gallery.  We also have pupils working very hard on their designs for the Trash Fashion Show.  Check back again soon to see how the pupils are progressing with their ideas.

Well done!

Well done to all our very talented Art and design pupils who did extremely well with their SQA results in the subject!

We are looking forward to several of you coming back to the Art and design Department to progress further in the subject.
